The Alliance for Community Media represents over 2,000 Public, Educational and Governmental (PEG) access centers (almost 5,000 television channels). Conference tracks include New Media Issues, Media & Telecom Public Policy, Fundraising Collaborations & Outreach, Technical Issues, Management, Training and Media/Civic Involvement & Community Development.

Jul. 17 - 20, Austin, TX
Netroots Nation is an annual convention gathering people from all walks of life who belong to the Netroots, the US-based (but globally focused and inclusive) non-partisan grassroots community that uses the internet and blogs as primary tools for expressing viewpoints; building consensus; acting to change the status quo; mobilizing huge numbers of people and informing each other and the world about current events, grassroots actions, networks, meetings and policy.
Jul. 23 - 27, 8 am, Chocago, IL
The UNITY '08 Convention will be the largest gathering of journalists of color. Nearly 10,000 journalists and media executives will meet to discuss timely issues affecting journalism and the media industry.
Jul. 25 - 27, 2:00 pm, Atlanta, GA
The most important purpose of the conference is to share knowledge. The conference will promote intellectual, social, and cultural development of the blogging community by bringing bloggers of color together. Blogging While Brown is an opportunity to meet other bloggers and blog readers of color for the first time, discuss current issues of interest to bloggers of color, network with individuals and organizations interested in leveraging online activity with offline results, and learn about the latest technology that will assist bloggers with publishing their work and improving their readers experience by fully engaging in the newest media technology.
