It seems like every week, another cable or phone company is caught blocking or interfering with online content. The FCC is holding public hearings on the future of the Internet, and Congress is batting around Net Neutrality like it’s a tetherball.

One thing is for certain: our open Internet is at risk, and we need to arm ourselves for the battle ahead when Internet service providers and opponents step up their game to dismantle Network Neutrality.

The New York Times story on a secret Pentagon plan to spread favorable views of the war by recruiting and planting military analysts in the nation's news media is just the latest example of the crisis in our media system.

Despairing, disgusting and disheartening – those words are flying around today to describe ABC’s irresponsible Democratic presidential debate Wednesday night.

Here’s another one – dangerous.

ABC’s failure to ask tough questions, act as a watchdog and hold our leaders accountable is not an anomaly. It is a testament to our broken media system.

Today people will have their first chance to speak directly to all five FCC commissioners about the irresponsible and discriminatory behavior of Comcast and other companies who want to block and filter the Internet. At Stanford University, hundreds of people are gathered to speak out about the importance of an open Internet for education, innovation, competition, and free speech.
